Now Dusty is in for a stay at the Vet's.Tuesday evening he fell on the wooden floor and couldn't get up. When I picked him up his head fell over like he didn't even have the strength to hold it up. Uh oh.
The vet had given me some Rimadyl for arthritis pain so I gave him one of those. He slept through the night and I gave him another at 5 the next morning. He was a little better but I had him at the vet's office by 8:15. I have the best vet.
Dusty's got some kind of infection somewhere (his white blood cell count is up) and several of the numbers on his kidneys are up as well. He is on an IV and may get to come home tomorrow.
Fingers are crossed. He's really lost a lot of weight in the past few years. Back in 2007 he weighed 28 pounds. He is down to 22.7 now. He still acts like a puppy much of the time even though he is 12 1/2.
